Applying

When you are ready to begin the process of applying to medical or health professional school, members of the Medical Careers Advisory Committee (MCAC) at The College of New Jersey are ready to assist and advise you. This process generally begins about a year and a half before you intend to begin classes at medical school.

While this may be during Junior Year for some students who wish to begin med school a few short months after graduation, you may also begin the process during your Senior Year, which will result in a “gap” or “extra” year between graduation and matriculation at medical school. This is very common, and often results in a better chance of acceptance. Students also work with the MCAC after they have graduated. There is no set “perfect” time to apply, except for when you are ready!
